In 2020, the Colorado General Assembly established the Affordable Health Care Coverage Easy Enrollment Program. (HB20-1236) The program will allow Coloradans to ask on their state income tax returns for Connect for Health Colorado (Exchange) to assess whether uninsured household members are potentially eligible for free or subsidized health care coverage.
This legislation also directs the Exchange Board of Directors to establish an advisory committee to help guide implementation and administration of the Easy Enrollment Program. One of the seats on the committee is for an individual who provides income tax preparation services. The previous member filling this role is unable to continue their term.
