COCPA Webcast Tips

Prior to the Webcast

• You will receive a webcast confirmation email with instructions and a link for logging into the webcast at the designated date and time.
• Download the participant materials from COCPA myCPE or directly provided in your confirmation email.
• Click here to test your connection to the Adobe webcast system prior to the webcast.

CPE Credit Requirements

• Webcast participants are required to answer “yes” each time a random participation check occurs.
• A dialog box will appear and ask if you’re there. You must click in the circle that indicates you’re present. There is no “submit” button. The box will remain there for a couple of minutes then disappear. If you’ve clicked in the circle, you’ve been counted.

This type of participation tracking is required by the state board’s rules, and it is how the COCPA knows what number of CPE hours you’ve earned for this course.

We know your certificate of attendance (COA) and tracking your CPE hours are important to you. Every effort will be made to reconcile the attendance checks and class participant lists and send your COA within a 2-week period after the course. Due to frequent employee travel and other CPE matters that take the staff away from their desks, there may be occasions when the turnaround time is closer to three weeks. We’re sorry for this inconvenience and will continue to strive for a quick turnaround time.

Participating in Webcasts as a Group

It is perfectly acceptable for multiple members of your office to view a COCPA webcast together. However, only registered participants will receive CPE credit for attending the webcast.

• One registered participant should log in to the webcast and become the moderator of the attendance checks and chat box for the group.
• After the webcast is over, the moderator or a firm administrator must send a signed letter to Tiffany Carson, on company letterhead, verifying the names of all participants who watched the entirety of the webcast together under the moderator’s name. Certificates of Attendance will then be emailed to all registered participants within 10 business days.
